About ScreenSense

ScreenSense helps parents and schools
teach healthy tech use to children.

Our hope is for families and communities to raise young people who are safe, balanced, and critical consumers of digital tech, and - most importantly - have ample time to cultivate their own senses of wonder and connectedness to nature, people, and the world around them. Our goal is to support parents and schools to introduce tech slowly in age appropriate and intentional ways and to teach healthy use to young people.

Our Approach

Community Roadmap - contexts-2.jpg

ScreenSense for Parents provides clear action steps to guide parents on their journey to healthy tech use.

ScreenSense for Schools inspires and supports those mobilizing change in tech-use norms in their school community.

Until tech design and associated legislation support healthy child development, we parents and educators must guide our children to a healthy and balanced relationship with tech, while safeguarding other developmentally important uses of their time. The stickiness of tech is a strong force so we should teach intentional habits, guide our children to good content, and keep tech in check.
